The adventures of my first pair of "real" shoes....

Mommy and daddy went away for a couple of days for something called "alone time" and an "anniversary". I don't understand that right now, but mommy said she needed it. That's all I need to know. While they were gone, and thinking of me all the time, they got me these cool things called shoes. Daddy actually picked them out himself, mommy said. Now, I have these "shoes" called Robeeze, which are actually baby shoes. But mommy said I'm getting to be such a big girl, so I'm starting to move on. Robeeze are really cute but are just for show. Everytime mommy put them on me, people would always say "those are so cute." I have a pair with princess crowns on them and a pair with butterflies on them. My cousin Henry even has a pair with an alien and a spaceship on them! I digress. So these shoes...I'm not quite sure what to think of them...so I will tell the story with pictures.

Mommy put these things on my feet.

I didn't know what else to do, so I ate them.

Daddy says "only Nikes for the baby."

I kind of got the hang of it.
Yeah I give up.

And just for fun...I'm comin to get ya!

Dear mommy....

Thank you for giving me a place to grow for 8 months and 27 days. Thank you for going through 3 days of labor. Thank you for pushing for 2 hours while my head was stuck and I was sunny side up. Thank you for visiting me every day in the NICU and fighting for me. Thank you for getting up every 2 hours to feed me. Thank you for dressing me up like something you keep calling a Barbie. Thank you for singing badly and doing silly dances to make me laugh. Thank you for introducing me to yummy solids. Thank you for breaking the rules for me. Thank you for the last 7 months and 15 days of my existence. This is how I thank you, mommy.

My first 4th of July.

Mommy tried to tell me what the 4th of July was about, and tried to warn me of all of these loud sounds I would hear after I was asleep for my bedtime. Some people came over, who I remember seeing before, and they all sat at the table and said "oh wow, that's good." I think daddy made something called ribs? They looked really messy, my kind of food! I got ahold of mommy finger later when she wasn't paying attention and got a taste of daddy's rib sauce. It was good! Mommy also went on and on about the first pie she's ever made. She's silly enough to have even taken a picture of it! I was asleep when everyone ate it, so I didn't get to try it. Mommy also put me in a pretty dress she said was 'festive". Everyone said they thought it was cute, but I just wanted to chew on it. Mommy is now going to post some pictures of my day.

P.S. I slept through the fireworks, and mommy said they were REALLY loud. But I was a good girl and just slept the night away! I must have been having a good dream!
